ENGLEWOOD, New Jersey, September 12, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --

Jerrick Media Holdings, Inc., (OTCQB: JMDA) (the "Company" or "Jerrick Media") a digital media and technology company focused on the development and marketing of branded digital content and e-commerce properties, announced today the expansion of its portfolio of brandable original content with the September release of three new eBooks and the premiere of the first installment of the "Steam Wars" three part short series.

Jerrick has released a three part series of science fiction stories available for digital download, entitled OMNI Best of Science Fiction One, Two, and Three. Content from the series is featured on Jerrick Media's brand OMNI, born from the science fiction magazine of the 1970s, 80s, and 90s, created by Bob Guccione. This is the fourth publication for the OMNI brand, following the successful hardcover book The Mind's Eye: The Art of OMNI, which showcases the science fiction art featured in the pages of OMNI magazine.

For the Jerrick Media brand Geeks, the premiere of the first installment of Larry Blamire's three part graphic novel series "Steam Wars", produced by Jerrick Media, is slated for late September 2016. Steam Wars takes place in the year 1897, where warfare is fought in large steam-powered fighting machines during the Second Steam War. The series is a mixture of blue-collar sci-fi and down-and-dirty grittiness, contrasted with Victorian elegance. Jerrick Media has also optioned a script for Steam Wars from Larry Blamire.

The new launches of brandable original content come as the Company completes the migration of its media properties to its Vocal content management platform. Through Vocal, the Company can layer original content along with user generated content across its media verticals to create numerous branding and monetization opportunities similar to the recent release of digitally published Baked: A Marijuana Cookbook in conjunction with the popular series Baked: Cooking with Mary Jean. All of the Baked content was sponsored by Phant Extracts and featured on Jerrick Media's Potent media property.

Jerrick Media CEO Jeremy Frommer said, "The ability to leverage proprietary content from multiple mediums through our growing portfolio of digital media properties will be one of the key drivers of success for our various brand's. The community we're creating through our content distribution system Vocal, works seamlessly through multiple mediums; from comic books, to graphic novels, books, television, film, and digital shorts. As we take Vocal to the next level we will begin to blend in user generated content in order to create a large portfolio of brandable immersive communities that are highly sought after in today's digital age."
