Flyte, a subsidiary of Creatd, Inc. and an emerging leader in innovative regional air mobility solutions, announced today that it is moving forward with acquiring Electra.aero, Inc.’s (Electra) EL9 Ultra Short hybrid-electric aircraft. This development marks a new chapter in Flyte’s mission to transform fast, quiet, and sustainable travel between cities and communities.
This strategic collaboration reflects Flyte’s intent to purchase a fleet of Electra’s EL9 aircraft, with flexibility for additional future units. It also places Electra into Flyte’s growing network of forward-thinking partners and industry experts working together to build the next generation of air mobility.
“At Flyte, we’re building a future where regional travel is not only faster and more convenient, but cleaner and more connected,” said Marc Sellouk, Founder and CEO of Flyte. “Electra’s EL9 aircraft aligns with our vision for an advanced air mobility network that connects people directly to where they want to go without the hassle of big airports. It’s the right aircraft for a new era of transportation that Flyte is excited to bring to our customers.”
“Flyte’s forward-thinking service model, paired with the unique capabilities of Electra’s EL9 Ultra Short, will accelerate the growth of Direct Aviation, bringing air travel closer to where people live and work,” said Electra CEO Marc Allen. “With the EL9, Flyte can unlock new direct routes between city centers, remote communities, resorts, and business hubs, cutting travel time and expanding access like never before. We’re proud to partner with Flyte to pioneer a new era of air mobility.”
Flyte’s pursuit of the EL9 is part of its comprehensive strategy to reshape short-haul travel in underserved and traffic-congested regions. Electra’s EL9 aircraft utilizes patented blown-lift technology, allowing it to take off and land in as little as 150 feet. This breakthrough enables operations from compact locations such as parking lots, rooftops, and small fields, dramatically increasing access and convenience.
The EL9 accommodates nine passengers and their luggage, with a range of up to 1,100 nautical miles and significantly lower operational costs. Its hybrid-electric propulsion system provides operators with flexibility in energy usage: electric power for quiet, zero-emission operations in populated areas, minimal fuel burn for short routes, and a hybrid mix to meet longer-range and regulatory requirements. Flyte aims to use the EL9 to unlock new point-to-point connections that bypass the limitations of traditional airports and traffic infrastructure.
This move positions Flyte to secure future delivery positions of the EL9 as it evaluates its integration into Flyte’s evolving fleet and route architecture. As Flyte continues developing its platform for direct-to-destination travel, the EL9 will support the Company’s goal of delivering high-performance, environmentally responsible mobility solutions that meet the demands of both business and leisure travelers.
